Telecom Product Management
“Rick Garvin of Ten Mile Square provided the leadership, technical expertise, and process knowledge we needed at a critical time in Acceller’s history. We were able to exploit the opportunity in the digital services triple play fully and become a respected leader in our market.”

Acceller was growing rapidly, finding new broadband services customers for cable and telecom companies; however, with the advent of triple play services (broadband, TV, telephone), Acceller’s market was about to expand tremendously. Acceller needed a new platform and a transformed technology organization to capitalize on the market opportunity and keep up with well funded competitors.
Work Involved
We assumed the role of interim CTO and took on the task of building a technology team and platform that could scale and perform. The results were transforming, including:
- Platform – Architecting and building a platform that could accommodate complex new product offerings, online and call center-based sales, and high traffic volumes.
- Processes – putting in place the development and operational processes that enabled Acceller to build new functionality, onboard new digital service providers, and support consumers looking to purchase services.
- Team Building – recruiting and hiring key senior and mid-level staff to take the platform forward, including the Head of Product Management, Director of Development, and key senior developers.
- Replacing ourselves – with a world-class CTO, who had previously built and scaled the Sportsline service and GEnie Online Service.
Leveraging and expanding on the platform we built, Acceller grew revenues by 10 times and merged with its most similar competitor, Bridgevine, in 2014.
